  • Celetná 589/27, Old Town, Prague

The Dům V Templu building is located on Celetná street in Prague’s Old Town.

This property has been listed as a heritage building since 1958 and is reputedly named after its previous owners, the Knights Templar.

The three-storey late-Baroque terraced building was reconstructed in a Classical style around 1790.  Prior to this, the earlier Baroque building – said to have been designed by Giovanni Domenico Orsi after 1664 – housed a Hospital Church of the Conversion of St. Paul. In 1801, the property was adopted by Jan Zelinka who transformed it into a residential building.

Currently, the building offers over 1,000sqm of residential space, with 8 apartments. It also has 3 office units and boasts ground floor retail space and a restaurant.
